Today we’d like to introduce you to Deira Lacy.
Deira, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My interest in photography came about through a project at my full-time job at Parkland Hospital. I was asked to develop an in-house photography program for the babies at Parkland. Through the research and development, I became fascinated with photography. I started with sports photography; I coached a Pop Warner team and did team pictures as well. That grew into families and so much more.
My goal was to become the local photography ever one used for seniors, Family or Weddings pictures, with the power of social media my business took off. Last year I was awarded the best SharpShooter at the Local Love Awards founded by Lady Jade of K104. As the business grew the demand grew, with a lot of support from family and friends I’ve reached my initial goal. Weddings are my preferred photography of choice now. I love… Love and telling the story through pictures is my passion.

My name is DeIra Lacy and passion doesn’t begin to describe my love for photography. I am a self-taught, freelance photographer specializing in Weddings, Lifestyle Portraits and Senior Photography.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Hire more staff, I thought I could handle the workload but its too much with my full-time and this.
