Today we’d like to introduce you to Desire` Lott.
Desire`, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started in 2013 when I nervously stepped into my first pole dance class. As a novice, I spent my first class stretching, swaying to the music and most importantly, falling in love with myself all over again. It was that very day that I discovered the healing and revitalizing power of movement. I would’ve never guessed that years later, I would have hosted a number of traveling workshops, instructed hundreds of women and created what is now Sugar and Sage.
After years of teaching multiple sensual movement classes, studying feminine embodiment and speaking with several women, I realized that a space such as Sugar and Sage didn’t exist locally. A safe, accepting and healing space where women could move, shamelessly explore their sensual expression and unapologetically cultivate a healthy relationship to their bodies.
With that in mind, I created a loving community that centers around sensual movement, feminine healing, and self-loving rituals.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Like many other businesses, it has not been a smooth road. I spent many days wondering not only how to effectively create this sensual feminine focused space that I had envisioned but, how to execute it in a way that was digestible and accessible.
Curating movement methodologies that encompass sensuality, yin yoga styles and meditation was a challenge. There were moments where I spent hours re-writing lesson plans, re-working exploratory movement prompts and pausing as a reminder to rid myself of ideals.
I was and am always accepting of the struggles and truthfully, the challenges along the way have made me more grateful for this community that I’ve built.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Sugar and Sage story. Tell us more about the business.
At Sugar and Sage, we specialize in awakening the sensual feminine through flow movement, breath work, sensual yoga & self-love practices. We proudly offer traveling sensual movement workshops, private online sessions and group classes fit for every woman at any movement level.
I pride myself on creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for women to explore their sensuality and reconnect with their body.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’m not a big believer in luck but, I am grateful to be here and to have shared space with so many women who unknowingly have inspired me to keep going.

Love. With so many women who have struggled with self-acceptance, outlets like this are appreciated not just by women but the men who love them. When women come together in positivity and love is a beautiful thing. Much respect sugar and sage for what she is doing for women all over the world.

Awesome article, truly! I have had the pleasure of knowing Desire’ for a couple years now and have been fortunate to see her heal and empower women throughout this time. The sincerity in her purpose to do so has been enlightening to witness first hand. It all begins with self love and self care. In this world of ours sometimes we deal with harsh experiences and we forget to breathe in between these hard moments and take time for self love and care. She has learned to do this which in turn allows her to fulfill her purpose, to teach women to heal from everyday life and/or traumatic experience. She is a humble soul whose purpose is clear, present, and now. She is helping/teaching women to heal and in turn the love is beginning to spread like wild fire to any person in contact with them from that point on. I appreciate her and all she has done and continues to do. I highly encourage any woman seeing this article to contact her and begin the healing process.
