Today we’d like to introduce you to Dolly Vishwanath.
Dolly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My husband, Sanjay and I bought our first school, Oak Brook in Murphy in September 2014. As parents of two school-age kids we have experienced varied levels of child care service. We quickly realized the attributes that are most important to us as parents that we would like to see in a school; and those are the attributes that you will whole heartedly find at Oak Brook.
One of the first things that struck us at Oak Brook School, Murphy was the sense of family that exists at the school; this was repeatedly communicated to us by both the parents and staff. When we opened our second location in June 2017 in Allen, our goal has been to re-create the same family-centric environment as seen in Murphy.
Both schools have experienced and nurturing teachers, state certified ISD-based curriculum, a strong enrichment and extra-curricular program line-up, meals made using fresh ingredients daily, real time communication with parents, big, clean facility with multiple outdoor play areas. Our goal is to provide students a safe, caring environment where they can grow both academically and emotionally.
Has it been a smooth road?
Moliere once said “The greater the obstacle, the greater the glory in overcoming it”. Since Sept 2014 when we bought our first school, we have learnt a lot! Our desire as parents ourselves led us into this industry, but just like running any operation there are so many facets to it – the licensing rules & regulations that govern child care centers, varied expectations/demands of families, managing a diverse staff of teachers, and at the end of it all making sure we stay true to ourselves.
Instead of focusing on the struggles, I would like to take this opportunity to shed light on the amazing team of teachers and management staff that run our school seamlessly.
Both schools have a group of authentic, hard-working, dedicated ladies and some gentlemen who share our vision for the school. So much so that the Murphy school was voted BEST PRIVATE SCHOOL and BEST CHILD CARE in Murphy/Wylie/N. Richardson in 2016 and 2017!

Oak Brook School is a privately-owned child care in the Murphy and Allen area. We offer preschool, pre-k, private kinder, after school and summer programs.
Murphy school – care offered to children from 18 months – 12 years
Allen school – care offered to children from 6 weeks – 11 years
We consider Oak Brook’s key pillars of strengths to be:
1. Facility with separate outdoor play areas, soft toys room for younger children (In Allen only), gym and computer room.
2. Experienced teachers in all classrooms who have been in child care for several years.
3. State certified ISD-based curriculum.
4. Smart board technology for interactive learning.

6. Real time communication with parents using online tools that lets us take pictures of your child’s day, create daily reports and share it with parents.
7. Nutritious breakfast, meals & snacks made daily using fresh produce and meats in our onsite kitchen.
We take great pride in our staff. No school can be successful without a team of dedicated, honest teachers and management.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the diversity offered in N Dallas. Be it in restaurants, activities (for both adults and kids), our trails and parks, shopping and just all the people in general. Every time you go out you hear so many different languages being spoken!
