Meet Domingo Anthony of South of Everywhere

Today we’d like to introduce you to Domingo Anthony.

Domingo, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I would say the different environments that I’ve had a chance to marinate in from being raised in Chicago and then finding my way to the South. One universal thing I saw in each place is that no matter where you go, there is an untapped talent who hang in the shadows and just need a light shown on them. South of Everywhere was created to be a platform for those creative kids to link, network, and be introduced to a wider audience.

Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t believe anything worth doing should be smooth or without trials and tribulations. Me and my partner Emory tried the brick and mortar route, which was such a bright spot for the community and allowed us to meet people that have helped us grow to this point. Though that spot is no longer there, it showed us that community is anyplace you choose to be and when you have a strong following that supports you, anywhere can be South of Everywhere, especially during this pandemic.

South of Everywhere – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
South of Everywhere has taken so many forms, but I would say now we serve as hospitality and lifestyle curation company with a diversified portfolio of clients that range from hotels, restaurants, bars, and artists. We’ve created a great network of talented creatives that help us provide a unique experience for short or longterm events and installations that embody our culture and aesthetic alongside our client’s vision.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I believe the Pandemic has changed our outlook as well as others on how we approach large gatherings. Since our company at its core thrives off human interaction, we can’t just give up and go straight Zoom vibes.

I do think it’s important though to preach cleanliness and a healthy lifestyle through sanitation and what we put in our body from what alcohol we drink and certain food choices. We’re currently working on ways we can promote those things with our partners and still eventually be comfortable enough to enjoy each other’s company face to face. I do know there will come a time again where we all can enjoy art, music, and each other again, I pray this time has also taught us to treasure every interaction and that everyday counts like crazy.
