Today we’d like to introduce you to Dommini Guein.
Dommini, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been creative since I was a child. Most of that creativity was spread amongst music because that is what I was most passionate about. Growing older, I realized that I had ideas for multiple mediums of art and chose not to limit my intelligence to just music, but expand it to complete productions around it instead. While in college, I decided to accept this creativity as my God-given gift and take it seriously. So, I founded Artistic Domain on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia and have been committed to my gift since then!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not a smooth road. A lot of the struggle within my journey came from a lack of self-identity. It is pretty difficult to build a brand of quality without knowing who you are and what you can actually offer to the world. I knew I was talented but I wanted everyone to know what I knew. That’s the biggest struggle I faced. Now, I have a much, much better sense of myself which makes it easier to bring clarity to my lane and what it is I am trying to build for my people.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Founded in October 2016, Artistic Domain serves as a platform to cultivate the artistry in every being by providing services for videography, film, photography and creative direction. These mediums are used as an artistic expression to capture the artistic expression of other artists. For all those who still believe in its true value, Artistic Domain is the home of all things art. My passion and diligence for what I do sets me apart from others and I am proud of that. Let’s get creative!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always known for loving music and technology. I have always been antisocial so as long as I had headphones and a gadget to play with I was good. If I wasn’t outside and exploring, I was inside creating something. Whether it was making a beat, writing a song/poetry, drawing/sketching or even studying behind the scenes of films, I have always had my hands on something art-related. Art has been a passion my entire life.
