Meet Edward Kunchev of Edward K. Studio of Voice in North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edward Kunchev.

Edward, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been a performer/singer for over 15 years. I grew up in Texas but traveled the world for my education. I hold a degree in Music and Journalism, but the experience and education I got privately changed my life.

After working several years in the corporate world, I made the decision to dedicate my life to Music. I have taught several students throughout the years, but never full time. In 2011 I established the Edward K. Studio of Voice to bring high quality voice lessons to the DFW Metroplex.

I embrace the “bel canto” method of singing which stems from the classical style of singing, but I have progressively incorporated it to my method of singing which encompasses all genres and styles of music. I bring my stage experience and knowledge of the voice to the mainstream and have helped numerous singers/performers find their voices and mentor them into true artists. My students range from R&B to Pop as well as Rock and some have even gone on to begin careers and win competitions in the Dallas area as well as National TV shows like American Idol and the Voice.

In 2016, one of my students placed top 40 in the last season of American Idol and several others placed in the Voice as well. I am extremely proud of our accomplishments. These students are currently working on musical projects that will be released soon. We are in the recording studio constantly perfecting the craft of singing.

I have been in business for over 5 years now and continue to grow. I would like to create an institute in the future to help other singers reach their potential and goals as performers and Artists. I perform locally and travel overseas for concerts and continue my work as a singer myself and everything I learn gets passed on to my students.

Has it been a smooth road?
I have had my ups and downs like any other small business. Beginning a business for the first time can be challenging, but I work solely on a referral basis and so my work speaks for itself. I consider myself one of the best vocally coaches today. My students call me a hidden gem.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with your studio– tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a vocal coach and mentor. I teach all singers and professional speakers to use their natural given voice to its full potential. I use techniques that help the process of freeing the natural voice. The environment is comfortable and relaxed. I use today’s technology to incorporate old methods that have worked for years. I specialize is teaching vocal technique which encompasses work with vowel placement and breathing. I have been a performer for over 15 years and I have done stage work and recitals and recordings…This sets me apart from others because I incorporate all these experiences into my teaching and give each student the ability to learn from a professional.

My greatest joy is to see a student performing at their best and using my technique to further their careers. This is one of the reasons why I established my studio. To bring back the true sound of music and the true placement of the voice so that you can have it for the rest of your life.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Dallas for its diversity. It has been a struggle trying to bring arts and music into the community and over the past few years this has changed. I am proud to be part of a city that is concerned about the arts and that wants to motivate not only kids but adults as well to experience something different.

It is a pleasure to be in the presence of this person. He is someone who truly cares and wants each and every person he encounters feel special and unique. Not many people are this way anymore. This article is accurate capturing traditional meets wordly and cultured but it did not do justice to how humble this man is. One of the most real and dedicated people that you most often will never come across. Kudos to you, friend!

I have worked professionally with Edward on many occasions over a decade. His voice and artistry are a true gift. He has an excellent ear and a very strong work ethic. In addition, he is a man of faith. This shows up in the kindness and warmth of his personality and the strength of his character. This area is very lucky to have an artist like him training singers of every age.
