Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Yeager.
Eric, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story is that of radical transformation relating to every facet of life. For the past 20 years, My family had a property management, construction, and property development companies that focused on office suites and coworking. There is much more to say on this, but this is the beginning.
The radical transformation happened when I met and surrendered my life to Jesus and He asked me to give up my idol of our companies and walk away from them. The next few years were a process of pruning, listening, growing, and taking steps for what He was preparing me for next. I have been building a Christian community software platform to help better enable the body of believers to become aware of each other, connect, share information, partake in events, and support each other. At the end of February 2021 we launched the platform with our first round of test users and will be officially live for all to use by mid March 2021. There are many more details to dive into and stories along the process, but this is the storyline flow.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I suppose smooth and rough can be relative, but at the end of the day, I believe you either let your challenges have you or you fight and overcome them. There have been many opportunities to overcome in this journey, from my darkest night, to having zero financing to build a software platform, but the hardest was walking away from our companies and having absolutely no idea what I was doing besides, “I knew God told me to do it”. I loved our companies and our members. I practically lived in our buildings and when I walked away, I was losing who I was. I lost my income, security and what seemed to be my future without having any plans. I just knew He told me to walk away and when I would pray about what to do, all I would hear is “trust Me and stand on faith.”
We’ve been impressed with His Kingdom Community, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My organization is His Kingdom Community and we are a non-for-profit software platform building a Christian community. We help enable the body of believers to become aware of each other, connect, share information, partake in events, and support each other. We provide the digital functions needed to continue a community beyond the four physical walls. We are for any type of group of believers from large and small traditional churches to your home church and bible study, to workshops and student organizations – the common theme is a love for Jesus. We provide believers a safe place to grow for wherever they are in their journey and bring unity to the body by providing a digital community platform focused on glorifying Jesus.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I absolutely believe in taking risks and stepping out as a necessity to growth. There are numerous ways individuals calculate risk and many are brilliant strategies – for me, I have learned to have my steps guided by the One who I trust most and although I rarely understand, He has never let me down. I know that if my eyes and heart stay fixed on Jesus, He will guide my steps regardless how risky anything seems to be – Jesus is greater than.
