Meet Eunice Martinez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eunice Martinez.

Hi Eunice, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Hello! Thank you for this opportunity. I’m excited to share a little more about me and 8 Moments Photo! I started my photography journey in 2015. I’ll never forget the day when my dad picked me up from school to head over to Fry’s Electronics to buy me my first Canon. That motivated me to practice shooting and eventually, photography began to grow from an interest to a passion of mine. It was difficult at first because I had no clue how to start a business. I joined Facebook groups that had local photographers share their talents and I eventually learned from their tips and tricks on photography. Today I can humbly say that I am a lifestyle and wedding photographer with 7 years of experience. I’m thankful to my clients for trusting me to capture their most precious moments.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been easy, there were many obstacles to getting to where I’m at now. The biggest hurdle I faced was self-doubt. There are so many talented photographers that it’s easy to compare yourself to everyone else and doubt your ability. I constantly doubted myself and struggled to launch. I eventually stepped out of my comfort zone and even attended pop-ups from The Social Chica as a vendor to gain more exposure to my business. Photography has always been a passion of mine, so I make sure to remind myself of how much I’ve learned already and not give up when I have so much more coming for me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a photographer who is passionate about preserving memories. Documenting couples and families is where my heart lives, however, being able to grow with my clients is the absolute best part of my job. I capture everything from weddings to maternity, families, grads, branding, and more. I am constantly investing in my education to bring my clients the best experience possible during our sessions. I’m that gal who is inspired by the raw, genuine, timeless photos that can be enjoyed for decades. I always leave my weddings and sessions feeling so full, and extremely blessed every time I get the opportunity to be part of their best days.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes, expect the unexpected. All my clients had a sense of lost hope for their upcoming celebrations to be documented by me. I had to find comfort for myself first in knowing that regardless of the current situation, I had to keep a positive mindset that I would not be defeated in no form. I learned how to stay in close communication with my clients by making sure they were taken care of first to rescheduling their sessions and weddings at no additional cost. There were times when I felt in my heart to refund their deposits due to some of them losing their jobs. I knew it was the right thing to do because it was them at that given moment going through a rough pat
