Today we’d like to introduce you to Eva Jordan.
Eva, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am Eva Jordan a master stylist an loctician in the Plano Texas area with 30 yrs of experience in the haircare industry, as well as an educator with platform artistry experience. My work has been published in Hair Revolution Magazine, Enchore HD magazine and The Beauty Consultant magazine.
I am the owner of Devalux Boutique which is an online store that carries our very own devalux brand products such as 100% virgin human hair extensions, Black diamond lashes, Our very own hair care products along with some clothing apparel.
I only Speciality is in healthy hair of all textures and to ensure that by receiving continued educational training from some of the top companies from Judy drops knowledge tour, Design Essentials, Influance Haircare, Aguage, USTI, and Arosci. I believe that continued education, quality of work along the passionate dedication to one’s craft is some of the keys to a great healthy hair salon.
Has it been a smooth road?
I wish I could say that it was a smooth road but it wasn’t, but that’s not always a bad thing because you gain so much in growth when you stick with it. It’s not just about doing hair it’s also the business itself. You wear so many hats when starting out, along with having to balance them all and making it run like a finely tuned machine.
Tell us more about the business.
My brand started on the word “Deva”. It was given to me by my clients and with that, I started Devascents which at that time was incense and home fragrance oil company back in the early 2000’s. In 2008 I branded my salon suite as Devastyles hair restoration clinic that specializes in healthy hair and scalp. Then in 2014, I launched my online store Devalux Boutique that offers hair care products, Extensions, lashes along with some apparel. I am known for my great shampoo service as well as my loctician services. I am most proud of my longevity in this industry and I’m excited about where my Deva brand is headed. What sets me apart from the rest is that my clients don’t have to change there stylists just to change their hairstyle.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In this day and time technology is at your fingertips. Stylist are making names for themselves like never before. We have the ability for our work to be seen globally with the internet and social media. Hairstyles and hair textures are causing a change in some companies hiring practices. As a natural hairstylist I see that locs have really taken off and vastly becoming very popular hair service and people are getting excited about there new loc journey that they have chosen to take with their hair.
