Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTyna Jalieba.
LaTyna, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and have worked as an RN for almost 20 years. Becoming an entrepreneur was nowhere on my radar until approx two years ago. I remember clearly hearing the voice of the Lord in a business meeting at the hospital I worked at the time. I heard an audible voice that said, “This is not it” I had no idea that within two months of this warning, I would be laid off for the first time in my entire life. From the moment I heard this, I began to receive spiritual downloads with visions and ideas for business. There were days when I was awakened out of my sleep and I would write what I was hearing or seeing in the spirit for business. The seed was planted and it continued to grow. It never left; it just grew stronger by the day.
I was one of many people that was laid off in what is perceived to be one of the most secure career(s) in the world. I quickly found out that my 4 degrees, education and experience made it even MORE difficult to secure another job in the DFW area. I spent three months searching and interviewing night and day. Most of the potential employers that were transparent enough to tell the truth would tell me in so many words they couldn’t afford to pay me my worth. One of the most frustrating and character-building times of my life. Here I am trying to make sense of all of this. When I lost my job, I lost my home all in the same day. I was preparing to close on my new home purchase and was unable to close due to the loss of my job. I’m a single mom of three with two living at home with me. I had to pack all of my stuff in storage and move in with my mom.
I finally secured another job but for considerably less, almost 20,000 less than what I was making prior. What a blow to my self-worth and self-esteem but when you got mouths to feed you do what you gotta do. I knew THEN that creating multiple sources of income and becoming an entrepreneur was IMPERATIVE and necessary, it was no longer an option. The new job the Lord revealed to me rather quickly upon hire that it was the provision he was making for me in this season but not to “settle in.” During the tenure at this job. Flawed and Free was birthed given to me by the Lord, randomly getting dressed for work one day. He dropped the podcast amongst other extensions of the business into my spirit. I immediately began to hash out the details of this plan as led by the Holy Spirit. The platform entrusted by God to me is one of deliverance and healing. Flawed and Free delivers people from the spirit of perfectionism and embracing who they are in Christ. We are Flawed, perfectly imperfect but Free thanks to the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has secures our eternal salvation by his sacrifice for us. Flawed and Free speaks specifically to the “woman in the wilderness “ on her journey from Egypt… enslaved mindset (slavery and bondage) into the promised land. Which are the promises of God for your life. This journey is one of finding purpose.
Professionally I functioned as an empath, nurturer and healer. Spiritually my role transcends as a prayer warrior/intercessor and a spiritual midwife. I assist women on their journey by assisting them in the transitional phase, meeting them in the middle to help birth their purpose and promise into the world. I take great pleasure in fulfilling my assignment to those I am called to.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely NOT, but every challenge was worth it because it matured me. I lost my job, I lost my home but I found my purpose and I found ME in the process.

What were you like growing up?
I was smart, wise beyond my years, passionate, caring, extremely loyal to a fault at times, sensitive but strong and a natural-born leader. I had a lot of hidden insecurities and spent my life from a child through adulthood, seeking accomplishments and perfectionism to measure my worth to myself and others.
