Meet Izza Khalid Khan of Izza Interiors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Izza K. Khan with Izza Interiors LLC.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I was always into art and decor. I was in AP art all during high school and enjoyed doing anything that was creative. I was fortunate enough to have one of my pieces make it to the state finals. Art was something that allowed me to let go and just be myself. As I got older, I started selecting all the paint colors and design selections in my parent’s home. I even redid my whole bedroom. When I started applying for college I wasn’t sure what to major in until my husband, Ahsan (fiancé at the time), pushed me to purse Interior Design because he knew how much passion I had for art and design. I attended The University of North Texas and majored in Home Furnishings Merchandising.

My senior year, I landed an amazing internship with Wisteria, a home decor catalog company, at their Corporate Head Quarters. Once I completed my internship, I was offered a job there as a Creative Assistant. I learned so much during my time with Wisteria. Through my work, I was able to establish relationships with amazing photographers, producers, and stylists that are so well known in the home decor industry. After a few years of with Wisteria, we decided to grow our family and were expecting our first child. My husband and I decided that I would step away for a short period of time and focus on my health and our growing family. After a short few months, I realized I couldn’t stay away from the field I had so much passion for and this is how Izza Interiors got started. It all started with me doing freelancing design work for residential and commercial properties. I got my first two projects, and it just kicked off from there. Now my business has now grown into my dream job.

My work has been featured on many home decor platforms including: Safavieh, Pier 1, Target and many more. In 2018 I was able to secure a huge project for IzzaInteriors. We got the opportunity to partner and work with a well-known individual and influencer in the Southeast Asian Community in DFW Farah Modi-Shah, owner of Weddings by Farah. We transformed her master suite, lobby, and office. Having her as my client truly gave my business the validation and push it needed.

I recently had the opportunity to work with some amazing women in the community to promote Women empowerment. This work will be featured and aired on CBS and ARY Digital in March. I have been blessed with many opportunities that I couldn’t even dream of. I am now doing this as a full-time job, and it has allowed me to take care of my home and family while pursuing my dream. It’s like having the best of both worlds!

Has it been a smooth road?
Everything has its pros and cons. It was not easy getting where I am at today.

There were times I just wanted to give up because of how exhausted I was from the daily responsibilities of running a business and being a full-time mom. Having the support from my husband and my family truly helped with my journey. It was also important for me to find a balance. Trying to figure out how to do everything and not get overwhelmed. At the same time, having your own business allows you to kind of do things your own way, create your own schedule and work from home.

Since my kids are only 2 and 4 they don’t attend school yet and due to their age, they constantly demand my undivided attention. The biggest challenge in my day is juggling my responsibilities as a mom and a business owner. To keep them and my work on schedule can get tough at times. Finding ways to be able to work while they are occupied has been a challenge.

Another challenge is branding and being able to sell yourself. Getting your name out there and allowing people to trust you with decorating their homes. We have been blessed with so many referrals from clients, friends and family. Because of this, we go above and beyond to ensure that our clients are always happy and satisfied with our work. Keeping a positive image of my brand is what helps it grow. In addition to this, social media plays a crucial role in promoting our work. Often times, people don’t realize how much work goes into social media branding and marketing, staying on top of it allows our business the exposure it needs to grow.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Izza Interiors LLC – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Izza Interiors is an Interior Design Firm that is based out of Fort Worth, and we cover all of DFW. We believe that every home has the potential to be beautiful. Our niche allows us to work with clients with any budget size, ensuring they can have a beautifully designed home in an affordable price range. We are proud to give our clients a designer look without the designer price tag.

Many designers cater to only high-end clients, and we do not. We try to work in a reasonable budget that allows anyone to hire a designer. This is what many clients love about our work. We manage to find almost identical items for half the price, and that’s what we are proud of.

Everyone deserves to live in a beautiful home, and it’s our goal to help do just that. We also provide our clients with two levels of services. We have a full service where the designer is fully in control, and then we have the E design service which empowers the client to take control of their home.

  • Full service is inclusive, allowing us to do all the work for you. We do all the buying and installing for the client. This allows the client to not worry about anything at all. They are completely stress-free.
  • The E-designs service puts the home owner in the driver’s seat. We charge a flat fee of this service. Client is given our client a 3D and 2D visual of their room, a list of all the items they need to buy, within their budget, and a floor plan layout of where to place everything in their room. Once they receive this, they can do it on their own time, and it gives them the direction of where they need to go with their space.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best thing I like about this city is the diversity of people and the food. I enjoy learning about different cultures, it allows my business to bring in many different styles.

The one thing that I like least about this city is that everything is so spread out. Planning my day around all the places I must go can make things challenging.
