Meet Jamie Ingram

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Ingram.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jamie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in Enid, OK. I’ve been doing music since I was 13. After several years of putting out a hand to hand CD’s Last year, I dropped my debut on streaming platforms “Hypothetically Speaking” and I’m currently preparing for the release of my 2nd project “IBA”.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has definitely not been smooth being a woman in Hip-Hop is probably the biggest struggle I’ve ever had because you have to fight every step of the way. There is a fight to be seen as a fight to be respected and the fight in general of being taken seriously as an MC.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a rapper singer and songwriter. I’m proud that I’ve established a brand based on talent creativity and being overall entertaining vs the sex appeal route that most females feel like they have to use.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was always a very inquisitive child I developed a love for music very early on my mother bought me a karaoke machine and I used to carry it around singing Whitney Houston or TLC. I always had a love for urban fashion and sneakers.
