Meet Jared Skinner of MADE.Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Skinner.

Jared, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
M.A.D.E. Design was started by simply wanting to bring something different to the design table. Stitching in a piece (marketing) that seemed to be initially missing and crafting elements to meet a generational shift that wasn’t being met otherwise. The “connected consumer” as we call them has certain expectations when it comes to experience and design and their standards are much higher. We are here to surpass those standards.

Has it been a smooth road?
Of course not, plenty of growing pains but I wouldn’t want it any other way. Love the work… Fighting for success is what makes the journey that much greater and rewarding once you’ve achieved something you’ve worked that hard to obtain. In the design realm, as with several other disciplines, the paradigm of trusting one with a soup-to-nuts design only after they’ve completed a soup-to-nuts design is something that’s hard to break through initially. Finding clients and partners who believe in your vision that is willing to branch out and differentiate themselves is key. We look for industry disruptors and clients who are interested in something functional and appealing, yet striking and different.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with MADE.Design – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We design with connected consumers in mind. We raise the bar and surpass it when designing for clients in the digital age. When experience, functionality, and aesthetics are paramount, we address each project with the same enthusiasm and curiosity to achieve the best outcome and design possible. We love assisting our clients to tell their story, find their voice, describe their brand, their motto, what’s important to them – through design and physical experience. We love seeing our clients’ faces when they see those concepts and renderings that embody everything, and more, that they were hoping to convey and achieve.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Listening. Translating the client’s vision and goal into a successful design experience is imperative. However, you have to thoroughly listen from the beginning to every ask of the client: each goal or parameter, desire, and intent. You have to know the rules before you can begin to craft a successful design.
