Today we’d like to introduce you to JaRon The Secret.
JaRon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve actually had a lot of influences in entertainment and multimedia since I was a kid. I was always around music as my family is full of singers, songwriters and talents. I got my engineering start at age 11, working FOH (Front of House) at church until I graduated high school. Throughout those years, with the guidance of my father and various mentors, I picked up knowledge on composition, production, different audio programs and hardware as well as tips and tricks. I learned in schools, from lessons, books, nuggets of advice from OGs, friends and from whatever I found on the Internet in forums and on YouTube. When I was 17 I saved up all the checks from a grocery store I was working at and built a computer for my making music. I Craigslist hustled and along with my dad and brother’s help, I got the rest of the equipment I needed to start producing, recording then engineering.
Has it been a smooth road?
Man, it’s been a lot of lessons and evolution really. I wouldn’t say too smooth or too rough because I believe everything is part of a Divine Plan. I just see it as taking the necessary steps to get to a purposed destination. I’d say the challenges really came from personal development and finding a way to be an individual with a process. Some lessons came harder than others but I’ve always enjoyed what I do.
Tell us more about your work.
Well, I do a lot, like whatever of needs to get done at that point. I write, produce, record, mix and master music. I sing, rap, play piano and guitar. Those are some of the things I’m most known for. Oh, and I build computers. I troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, whatever you need. Lol. I think I can say I’m most proud of the level of development we aim for in the studio. When we lock-in, we really put more than our all into what we do and sometimes we let a little dirt fly.
We have fun, you know? But at the same time, we grind. We work until the product is refined, so our work ethics and reputation are what I’m most proud of. We still workin’, growin’, all that. What sets us apart I think is the vibe we provide, our working chemistry. We just keep it natural and focus on talent development in the midst of everything else. That’s where we shine. I also teach DAWs too, so that’s a cool thing.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I say in the next five years there will be a totally new way to buy, download and stream music. Technology moves that fast. I also say we should see some more product placement, sponsorships and licensing take place with the way advertising is growing over social media. The challenges and contests, all that. I’m interested in seeing where it goes from here. I definitely think some genre diversification will take place too. There’s so much room for us to grow from where we are and we’re already so far ahead. I’m also overly excited to see all the new talent coming out of the Dallas marketplace. We’re in for some real treats with the talents around here.
