Meet Jenice Owens of From The Heart Entertainment in Far North

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenice Owens.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jenice. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a Sacramento, Ca native that always had big dreams and aspirations. I was brought up in a musically inclined family and discovered my gifts while singing in church. I had the incredible opportunity to travel with a group and we ended up in my dream destination New York City. I ended up moving and living in New York with the hopes of making it as a singer-songwriter. I was very fortunate to meet and work with super talented artists who were on the same mission as I was. I decided to move to Dallas, TX for a change of pace and attended Mediatech Institute where I graduated with my degree in recording arts. With little experience in the field of audio engineering, it was difficult landing a job that worked around my schedule of being a mom, full-time employee and a songwriter in hopes of landing a placement.

So I decided to go a totally different route and release a children’s book titled “Coco Brown”. Coco Brown is a story about a young girl’s journey to self-discovery and loving the skin she’s in. While my book was garnering a lot of attention, I decided to put my musical skills and knowledge to use in the meantime. I started an artist development company “From The Heart Entertainment” which helps new and seasoned artists with developing a strong brand. Eventually, we will become an independent label with artists who want to express their art authentically and without limitations. My goal is to start a non-profit organization that reaches and inspires the youth to break the cycle of failure, fear and unworthiness. Ultimately, pushing them to walk in their God-given purpose. So as of today, I am now a mother, published author and entrepreneur.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing worth having comes easy. I suffered with depression, low self-esteem, fear and anxiety. Survivor of domestic violence and homelessness, overcoming all these obstacles was only by the grace of God.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with From The Heart Entertainment – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
From the Heart, Entertainment is an Artist Development company that helps new up and coming artists build their brand. We specialize in creating a lane where the artist can express their art authentically without limitation. We are a new company, but we are already expanding to different locations, New York City being one of them. I am proud of the fact that I am representing From The Heart as an author who is published and making a name for myself. I was recently interviewed with Good Day Fox 4 and had a successful book signing event. What sets us apart from others is being intentional of the artists we promote and the message they push out to the world. From the Heart has many different ventures we are working on such as music, podcasts, television, films and more.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future is to release two more books for the year 2020 and my EP titled “Inner Child”. I am also planning a book signing tour for Coco Brown and creating a brand that can venture off into cartoon series, dolls, fragrance, clothing, etc. There is no limitations in what I plan to do in my future endeavors because I think of new ideas every day.
