Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Briggs.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jennifer. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always had a creative spirit, and for the longest, I wanted to be a writer. I love to read, and it was always my way to escape and dream of all of the possibilities the world could offer.
As I got older and moved through my career, design and telling stories through design become more of my focus. I got started creating design work for my sister and realized it was something I really loved to do and wanted to make designs for more people. Saying I’m passionate about design is an understatement. I’m a fanatic.
I’m a self-taught graphic designer, and everything I’ve learned thus far is from me looking at design work I love, and thinking let me try that. To me, design is all about the placement of shapes and fonts to create a cohesive and consistent look and feel. A design should make people feel and think not just read words and move on to the next part of their day.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been a smooth slightly bumpy road. I think the biggest struggle is learning how to manage clients and continue to work a full=time job. There has to be a balance, so you’re not burnt out on both ends. In most cases, I use my lunches and evenings to work on client projects.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Nicole Designs – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
With a team of just me… for now… I design and curate brand visuals to help people level up their brand and not struggle to create brand visuals on their own.
I’ve dedicated my business and Instagram to showing people the importance of good design and how it can make or break your brand. How can I say I’m a brand stylist and not show people how it is done? I want my clients to trust me and know without a shadow of a doubt their brand will be forever changed.
Recently, one of my clients told me “your way with fonts is magnetic.” Hearing compliments like that lets me know I’m doing the right thing and I’m in the right place.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
For the future, I’d love to work with bigger brands creating their whole aesthetic across multiple platforms. I haven’t made any huge plans, but I am working on opening an online brand shop. Brand design can become pricey, and if you’re just starting out, it’s nice to have the option to start creating your brand within your budget.
