Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Buck.
Hi Jennifer, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My love of the medical profession started when I was young. I graduated high school with an MA certification. I went on to become a sonographer, I worked many years in a hospital setting then finally settled on high-risk OB. After many years of ultrasound, I was given the opportunity to be a part of an OB practice that had a medical spa. I eventually became the practice manager and learned all the aspects of the med spa. I loved everything about it. I was given another opportunity to run a small med spa, that eventually grew into a large med spa. I had the desire to have a small yet elite medical spa that changes lives. one person at a time. Opening a business from the ground up has been the most humbling experience of my life! There are so many obstacles that business owners face. I have found that sheer grit and determination is the only way a small business can succeed. When one door closes you look for the French doors to open instead! Positivity is how I have overcome my challenges, don’t get me wrong I have sat down for a good hard cry, wiped my tears, and pressed on with a smile because I am blessed! I pray a ton. God has always taken care of our family and led the way. My brand is all about helping men and women love the glowing skin they are in. I love taking the approach of educating and creating a plan that best fits each patient’s needs. With each customized treatment plan, the end goal is RESULTS! We want each client to gain more confidence and feel happy in the skin they are in!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Let’s face it, anything worth having means there will be plenty of challenges and hard work along the way! Opening a Medical Spa is no easy task to do ethically, but we wouldn’t do any other way. Making sure we started with the right medical directors and staff that are experienced and share our passion for helping others was difficult but in the end, it has been so rewarding. In this market finding a commercial space to lease that fit our vision was also no easy task and probably the most difficult. We are currently in the process of a build-out in the beautiful Dallas/Ft. Worth suburb of Bartonville Texas and we couldn’t be more excited! In the end, every struggle has yielded lessons and strength and I am so excited to see what the future holds for Luminous Glow Med Spa!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I think I am best known for dramatic skin health results. I know that sounds bizarre, but if you have healthy skin, you have no acne, less texture, wrinkles, and pigment. Something that sets me apart from others is my love for educating clients, its empowering for them to know that there are multiple treatments and skincare options to reach their end goal! It’s also important for them to know they also have to do the work at home to see the best results I achieve that through education! What I think I’m best known for and passionate about is treating scars. When someone comes to me feeling defeated about acne scars, a scar from a surgery, or a severe burn, I feel honored to help them gain confidence and reduce that scar! I spend hours every month gaining more education so that I am able to know what is new in the industry and, I strive to be the best in my field. I think I am most proud of that I hold multiple licenses in the Aesthetics industry, which allows me to choose from an arsenal of knowledge to best meet my client’s needs.
What do you think about luck?
Ha this question makes me laugh. I may be the most unlucky person I know. However, the unlucky situations that I have landed myself in have taught me valuable lessons and have shown me and others what true grit looks like. I have had to work hard to get here. To gain my licenses, to open a Medical Spa to learn how to best do what I do. I guess you can say that I am lucky enough to not let bad luck win or defeat me. I hope that I can inspire other young ladies to just push through and continue to grow! Nothing good happens overnight, nothing worth anything comes without hard work, lots of time, and determination!
