Meet Jennifer Chavez

Jennifer, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My photography business began when my youngest daughter was born. She was the inspiration for the beginning of  this beautiful journey. I wanted to take pictures of her as a newborn and absolutely fell in love with photography soon after that. She is now four and still my little model! I have always had a creative side, with a lot of that coming from  my mother’s side of the family. With photography, I can exercise the creative in me and capture beautiful life moments that will last a lifetime. I absolutely adore being able to watch families grow right in front of my lens! I am a natural light photographer who is always chasing beautiful skies and sunlight. I also have in a home studio that I get to be extra creative in with cake smash sessions and milestone sessions. With these sessions, I can flex the creative muscles and make unique and individual sets for my clients. I am very passionate about ensuring my clients have an exceptional experience and will have stunning images they will want to print and hang in their homes for all to see.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road in my photography business has been full of learning and growing. I have an amazing and supportive husband who has supported my journey and vision from the beginning. My family and friends are also very supportive and let me use them for models, of course! I have spent many many hours learning and growing my craft. Sometimes that also means you learn through trial and error sometimes. It always brings me great joy when I have a vision, and it comes to life in my camera and on the computer in editing.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
My faith is what drives me, my family, and my business. I am not one who uses the word luck but believes things happen by faith. Each season good or bad, is by design and always has a specific purpose behind it.
