Meet Jennifer Reid of LiveWire Fitness in Plano and Carrollton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Reid.

Jennifer, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was in corporate America working in sales when I decided to follow my true passion and dreams. In 2008, I started LiveWire Fitness with a goal in mind to help impact people’s lives in the most positive way. After struggling and taking control of my weight and nutrition, I was excited to help others do the same. I understood the hard work and dedication required to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I wanted to help others reach, achieve, and MAINTAIN their goals too!

My husband and I were trying to come up with a name for my business and he came up with the name LiveWire Fitness to signify my passion for life and helping others. I have been known to be a firecracker!

Currently LiveWire Fitness offers boot camps, group fitness, personal training, small group training and a running club. To help our members get the best results we also provide nutritional support which includes, weekly meal plans, grocery lists, private groups, accountability partners, workshops and team support.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
God has opened countless doors to new opportunities. We started with one class and one location and today have 6 locations and a team of 8 offering over 30 classes a week for all ages and a variety of classes for all fitness levels. We have also partnered with a well-known registered dietician to help our clients

When I started this business, my husband and I had two small girls that were ages 3 and 5. I want to lead by example by being fit, cooking healthy and show them it’s a lifestyle not a trend. I want them to see that you can have a family, run a business, be active and healthy and to make a difference in the world.

I really try to keep a good balance between family and work but sometimes it can be a challenge. I cherish the time with my girls and I also have such a bond with my clients, they have become family!

Please tell us about LiveWire Fitness.
LiveWire Fitness is more than just a workout, it’s a culture. We have created an environment where friendship, fun & fitness blend seamlessly to create an experience of encouragement, structure and results.

We offer boot camps, group fitness, small group training, personal training and senior adult fitness. We also offer free yoga at Bitter Sisters Brewery the first Saturday of each month. We specialize in boot camp style classes, running classes, half marathon training, nutritional challenges, and an overall lifestyle change.

That’s why LiveWire has a more personal philosophy when it comes to physical fitness. Energizing people from the inside out, with programs focused on the all types of fitness and basic clean nutrition. We are dedicated to helping people in our community develop healthy lifestyles and live better.

What sets us apart from others is our relationships with our clients. We truly care about them and build long term relationships with each one. We are the LiveWire family.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory would probably be going on safari in Africa. We went when I was 10 years old and I still remember the trip and what an adventure it was!
