Meet Jermaine Bloodsaw of Eyeconic Visuals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jermaine Bloodsaw.

Jermaine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Coming from Detroit, Michigan, I always had a hunger for success and the drive to pursue all of my aspirations. I was always a go-to for graphics and was known in my social circle for having an eye for pictures. After college, I took a leap of faith, made the move to Dallas, and shortly after, I took to the creative scene. After watching from the sidelines, I decided it was time to invest in myself and that lead to the purchase of my first camera. EYECONIC VISUALS is a dream turned reality and it’s just the beginning.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have been many bumps in the road, but there is growth in the struggle. I have had to learn how to use the equipment, software necessary to produce high-quality work, and client relations in a fairly short period of time. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to working with people; each person is different and I have to be intentional about making people comfortable. It hasn’t been the smoothest thing for me, but with their story and why this particular photo session or video shoot matters to them, it gets easier.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
EYECONIC VISUALS specializes in digital storytelling, primarily using videography and photography. We approach each project as a strategic partner; the tangible result may be a video or a series of photos, but the differentiator is our ability to communicate the pulse of each client. Everything we create, every visual that we capture has meant not only to our clients but to our brand; that is what I am most proud of.

What were you like growing up?
My personality growing up was outgoing and creative. Growing up I took interest in sports cards, drawing, and later down the line graphic design. I was always drawn close to pictures for two reasons. One my father had a camera that he took pictures of my brother and I growing up. The second thing that drew me close was the stories my mom told while looking through stacks of pictures. I realized how the same effect pictures and on me growing up; I’m able to help create visuals that compliment the stories that will be told to the generations to come.
