Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My tasty journey began after I transferred to SMU from southern California halfway through college. I immediately fell in love with the enormous variety of food across the metroplex from traditional Chinese Xiao Long Baos to ostentatious glasses of Lemonade with Rainbow Cake on top. The creative, passionate chefs and foodies I’ve met have sent me on an exciting scavenger hunt for the coolest spots in Dallas.
I started snapping pictures of all the amazing dishes I stumbled upon and shared them with my friends. Pretty soon I became the person to ask – “Where can I get some good grub in Dallas?” In December 2017, I launched an Instagram and blog called Where to Grub Dallas to track my findings. Ever since then, I have fallen more and more in love with D-town and what I call the ‘grubbies’ that have come alongside me on my foodie adventures.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Yes! It’s important to make time for what you love and flex the creative muscles God has blessed you with. Don’t be your own obstacle.
Please tell us about Where to Grub Dallas. What should we know?
Where to Grub Dallas is a destination for DFW residents (and beyond) looking to dive into some really, really good food. On WTGD’s pages, you’ll only find an #honestfoodreview when I share about an eatery. There’s also something for absolutely everyone to discover! I’ve searched for and shared about the tastiest Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, most authentic Spanish Tapas, freshest Sushi Rolls, and everything in between.
