Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Stanton, founder of Beauty by Flawless Jess.
Jessica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my journey in the beauty industry back in 2016. I was (and still am) your typical girl who loved to watch Youtube tutorials and practice on myself. Some of my favorites are Makeup Shayla, TymeTheInfamous, and Ellarie. Makeup is something I have always been interested in and once I really started getting into it, it became a passion of mine. The more I practiced, I noticed that I started to get really good at it so I decided to take a leap of faith and start doing other people’s makeup. Ever since then I have been growing and glowing. I love it!
My push came from my best friend who is also a makeup artist. She’s been super encouraging along this journey and she really took me under her wing as far as teaching me different techniques and being there every step of the way. She’s actually how I got my first bridal client. From time to time I go live on Facebook and Instagram and do tutorials. I have had the opportunity to participate in local charity events such as Hearts and Heels and Doll Me Up. My clientele is slowly growing and things are really falling into place.
Has it been a smooth road?
No, It has not always been a smooth road. There have been plenty of times where I doubted myself and almost gave up because I didn’t have the following or I didn’t think people actually noticed my work because there are so many other amazing artists out here. It felt like I just wasn’t moving or making any progress. I have sometimes even gotten in my own way by being afraid to ask questions or taking classes and once, I did, my confidence grew. I am still learning and growing each day, though.
I realized that this gift I have is special and it’s meant to be used. I’m destined for greatness and Beauty by Flawless Jess will flourish. It’s hasn’t been easy but the bumps in the road are well worth it. God is about to do some amazing things, I know it.
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about your work?
With a growing clientele and passion behind the beat, Beauty by Flawless Jess provides makeup services for prom, bridal events, fashion shows, photoshoots, and your day-to-day beauty needs/desires. The ultimate goal is to not only make every woman that I slay look beautiful by amplifying her beauty, but feel beautiful once she looks in the mirror to see the final look. It’s an amazing feeling when my client gets out of my chair and her first words are, “OMG I LOVE IT!” I love seeing my clients happy but I also love saying, “Yaaasss! You did that, sis! LOL!”
I constantly remind myself that I’m made for this. I got this. God wouldn’t have given me this gift if He did not want me to use it. God is within her, she will not fail. Philippians 46:5. That is my go-to verse when I need encouragement.
Beauty by Flawless Jess is guaranteed to give each client a FLAWLESS beat! I am most proud of myself for stepping out on faith and doing what I love and sticking to it. I have a real passion for everything beauty, it’s one thing that gives me true peace and makes me happy. Eventually, I want to host classes (one on one and group) and hopefully open my own glam studio.
