Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am the founder of Captivating Home Collection (CHC). CHC is a family owned privately held limited liability company that is based in Dallas, TX. I come from a long line of entrepreneur’s and I am very happy to be in the home décor field. We are an online based home décor store that carries quality products from all over the world.
Another service that we offer to residential and commercial customers is interior design services. CHC has evolved a lot as a company and now we are doing home staging for a large real estate company in Dallas.
My dad introduced me to the furniture world over 15+ years ago. He has sold furniture, antiques, and accessories for over 30 years in Fort Worth, TX. I started learning how to find vendors, stock merchandise, price items, and resell goods from him. I founded CHC in May 2014 when I decided to branch off and feature modern home décor items.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The challenges I faced were obtaining new vendors and deciding what to sell. I had several doors close from vendors when I wanted to sell their products. After investing in a new website and marketing materials I was finally able to work with several new vendors. To be treated like a professional it is important to present yourself as such. Now we have dozens of vendors that span from California to New Jersey.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Captivating Home Collection – what should we know?
CHC is an online furniture and home decor store. What separates us from many other companies is that we offer free interior design boards for our clients. We are able to offer white glove services for our customers and handle all installation or assembly needs.
I feel that the quality and price of our products are critical. Being an online based company means there is a lot of competition. We work hard to make sure we use the highest quality products at competitive prices.

One day I started to search for minority owned furniture stores in Dallas, TX to network with, I found one and after several attempts to network they agreed to meet with me. I am so thankful for the opportunity to partner with these business owners, because they are great mentors and business partners of mine. It is so critical to network with other business owners and grow.
I have a very supportive family that have encouraged me a lot over the years. Anytime I feel like quitting, I always have friends and my husband to push me to keep going. My success is because of so many loved ones around me.
