Joel, please share your story with us.
The success of The Vested Group is rooted in the culture of our staff. I founded The Vested Group in 2011 after spending several years as a partner with a consulting firm that focused on another business management solution. I envisioned a different type of consulting firm – one that focused on the people that made up the team. I knew that from great people come great things so setting out to build a company based on the “who” rather than the “what” made perfect sense. Today, The Vested Group is a thriving 30-person team that is continuing to grow, expand, and enjoy success.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Any business leader will tell you that the road to success is never easy, and this rings true for The Vested Group as well. Scaling our business as we grow and prepare for continued growth has been one of our biggest challenges – a great challenge to have! We’ve invested time and resources into a proven method of scaling, and our commitment to the process has paid off by allowing us to prepare for and absorb our growing pains.
For example, we outgrew our first office space in 2015 and purchased space at a new location to accommodate our expansion. By the time we finished the remodel, we had already outgrown our new space. We have already begun the process of finding a larger space to transition to. All of this movement can be chaotic, but we are managing the changes and enjoying the ride!

The Vested Group has a knack for looking at how businesses run and pinpointing the strengths and challenges of the organization. By building on these strengths and shoring up weaknesses, we take businesses from making things work to making things amazing.
NetSuite – the best in class cloud-based business management software – is the main tool in our bag of tricks. This tool becomes so much more powerful in the hands of our uniquely talented team of consultants and developers. Whether it be helping an organization go faster, work smarter, or keep up with change, The Vested Group simply makes businesses better at doing what they do best.
What we are most proud of as a company and what sets us apart from others is one in the same: our culture. We are more than coworkers – we share the same values and enjoy spending time together, both professionally and personally. Our six Core Values not only define who we are but what we look for when adding to our team: Own It, All In, Do the Right Thing, Give Them Your Shirt, Appreciate Failure, and Enjoy the Ride. We acknowledge and celebrate these qualities in each other on a daily basis.
