Meet Joshua Wilborn, Rashad Miller and Timeon Pilkington of Uncool Urban Podcast in Oak Cliff

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Wilborn, Rashad Miller and  Timeon Pilkington.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Josh: I wanted to create a podcast and asked my friends, Shad and Tim responded like Batman’s Call in the sky.

Tim: I thought it was a good idea to create a platform to speak about what’s on our minds.

Shad: Once we discussed starting a podcast together, I figured it would be a great way to expand the Uncool Urban Brand.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Josh: No, Communication between three different personalities that weren’t used to being around each other has been a challenge.

Tim: No, learning how to balance podcasting being a craft and a hobby as well as family and personal life.

Shad: No, I’ve had to get to know two other guys that I really didn’t know that well.

Please tell us more about your work. What do you guys do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
Josh: I think what sets us apart is that we don’t always agree on topics, but we all have a common goal that we’re trying to achieve.

Shad: I am proud that we’ve made it almost two years, and people are starting to recognize us as a reputable podcast. I’m proud that we’ve stayed consistent through pandemic and growing pains.

Tim: I like that Josh specializes in booking our guests because he’s a people person. Shad specializes in making sure we represent Dallas. I specialize in providing a different outlook on topics. I’m also proud that we’ve stayed consistent through pandemic and growing pains.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Josh: Continue to increase our listenership, more high profile guests, gaining sponsors, and growing our future podcast network

Shad: I want us to get more high profile guests, being consistent for another two years and beyond, as well as merchandising the brand.

Tim: Continue to expand the Uncool Urban brand, looking at different avenues to be more creative as well as expanding my own personal brand and how we can legalize weed in Texas.
