Meet Juan Zamora of Juan Zamora Art

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Zamora.

Juan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been drawing all my life. Ever since I can remember, I would fill up spiral notebooks with drawings. I took after-school art classes when I was 12 or 13 and I also enrolled in every art class I could in high school. I went to TCC for my associates in Graphic Communication and started working at a commercial printing company while still attending school.

I took a break from my art for a while but started back up a couple years ago. All that time off must have built something up inside of me because I’ve been producing so many pieces lately. Most of my work can be seen at the Central Arts of Bedford Art Gallery, or any pop-up or art festival that I can attend around DFW.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, it’s pretty smooth. The only struggle is loading up the car before and after the shows with all my work, tables, and tent!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Juan Zamora Art – what should we know?
I primarily work in acrylics, watercolors, and markers. My inspiration comes from but is not limited to Latino and pop culture and really anything that can spark an idea in my brain.

What I’m most proud of is my vision, that’s what will separate me from others. No one can steal that.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Create what YOU want to create. I try to keep this in mind when moving on to a new piece.
