Meet Keith Grant, Model in Oak Cliff

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keith Grant.

Keith, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started modeling at age 8 for Cheri Eaton Agency and Kim Dawson. My mom was a fashion show director and taught me how to model walk. Thru my teens and young adult years, I didn’t take it seriously but I did some model work throughout the city. At the age of 40, I finally took modeling seriously and entered Mens Fashion Week in Dallas. I won most popular model in the event. A few months later, I moved to California and signed with several agencies worldwide. After establishing myself in Cali, I started traveling back and forth doing model work for major companies and magazines.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not entirely been smooth. I deal with a lot of racism and discrimination because I am an African American male model who is straight. Being a top model at 43 years, I find myself as competition to models coming up after me. It is mentally challenging at times, but I have so much love for my industry. It is also difficult at times to keep motivating myself to stay fit but I preserve.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Model Keith Grant – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My specialty is print modeling. I have been published worldwide in magazines like Fashion Ghana, BossManMagazine, Mora Model Magazine, etc. I also slay the runway and have walked in shows like Diffa Dallas, Cosign Magazine, Miami Meets Dallas amongst others.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
In the future, I plan on doing more commercial modeling. I am signing with Grogan Management here in Dallas and will continue to work on the west coast as well. I have a part in an upcoming movie as well. I get to play a detective. It’s called The Spirit Movie.
