Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Gonzales.
Hi Kelly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started my business in 2011 doing hair on the Fort Worth side of the DFW. I gained experience working for a few salons and new that I wanted to grow a business of my own. I built up my clientele for years but decided I would make the move to Rockwall, Texas as we started a family and wanted to raise our kids close to family. My business has grown so much and although COVID had a few setbacks for us in the business, it almost seems as if my clientele exponentially grew in the reopening phase of salons. I am so very thankful for my clients and certainly thankful for the ones that continue to drive from Fort Worth across the metroplex to continue to support my business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
2020 was a trying year for many small businesses with COVID shutting us down but hard work and perseverance worked out for me and my business. Aside from that, the hardest obstacle I’ve ever faced in business was moving across the metroplex. With the support of family and friends, I’ve managed to continue to grow and absolutely love where I am professionally and personally. I am extremely blessed to have the best support system and clients in the DFW.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love being a hairstylist. I work hard to make sure that I completely understand what it is my clients are asking for once they are in my chair. I work really hard to build relationships with my clients and feel that it is the single most important step in them leaving happy, beautiful, and loved.
What do you think about luck?
I’m not sure if luck has played a part in my businesses success or not, but I certainly believe there’s been way more good things happen than bad. I’ve met so many great people along the way that have supported, shared my business, and that have became more like family to me and I am so thankful for that!
