Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Hunter.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kim. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Like most people, I just love happy hour. Also like most people, I have to drive like a bat out of hell just to get to happy hour in time! I started hosting “girls night” at my house. I’d invite my girls over, and I would play bartender.
My love of socializing and crafting signature cocktails is what prompted my sister to convince me to turn this passion of mine into a business. Potent Pours started out solely as a mobile bartending service in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Now, I have expanded to a line of Cocktails on the Go! I am very excited about my future plans for Potent Pours.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Tuh – I wish I could honestly say this process from thought to action has been smooth. Finding my target consumer and really putting Potent Pours out there was a struggle initially.
Now that I am more comfortable with marketing Potent Pours face to face, I really have to work on my social media presence. Knowing what to post at the perfect time with the right hashtags to gain the attention of potential clients is something I’m still learning, but I’m getting better each day.
Please tell us about Potent Pours.
Potent Pours is a mobile bartending service based out of Dallas/Ft. Worth (but we do travel). We specialize in creating a signature cocktail menu for your special event. Potent Pours is known for the way the bar is always set up (whether it be fresh flowers or candles to help set the mood) unique and fresh ingredients/garnish, the bartender, and of course delicious potent cocktails.
I’m very proud that I’m this short time Potent Pours has been operating – almost one year- we have developed a loyal clientele that supports new products and ideas. I think what sets us apart from other bartending services is that I don’t show up with vodka and cranberry juice and give it a snazzy name, I take time to work with the client to develop a unique cocktail that you’ll only find at their event!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
The freedom of just being a kid!!! Playing outside until the street lights came on.
Running and playing so hard while my mom made dinner… I still have scars till this day! Ahhh, the memories.
