Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Sabatino.
Kimberly Sabatino is a freelance photographer with a background in a portrait, fashion, editorial, and product photography.
Before Kimberly began her career in photography, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Advertising with a minor in Theatre Production at Texas State University.
From there, Kimberly quickly dove into the marketing field in San Antonio, where she took the position as Marketing Coordinator at a video production company. She later moved on to work for Frontier Management – an award-winning, nationwide management company. There, she worked her way from Marketing Assistant to Marketing Director in less than one year where she oversaw her entire department at their San Antonio location.
Kimberly’s love for capturing and creating marketable images drew her to the world of photography. Her love of the art combined with her experience in social media and advertising was enough to turn her career around to do what she truly loves – creating.
Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not. As a female photographer, it is a constant struggle being taken seriously as a professional. I could go on and on about this. Change hasn’t happened yet, but my hope is that one-day female photographers and artists will be taken as seriously as their male counterparts. Especially in an industry that heavily relies on the female gaze.

I specialize in portrait, fashion, editorial, and product photography. I think what sets me apart from others is my ability to take on different creative roles in the majority of my shoots. Many times, I’m the one who location scouts, styles and directs my shoots as well as shooting them.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the urban growth that it’s constantly experiencing. I guess I wish there was a bigger fashion scene like Los Angeles and New York has.
