Meet Kristen White and Natalie Campbell of Nat + Tin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen White and Natalie Campbell.

Kristen and Natalie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It started with a text from Natalie seeking advice on an idea and turned out she found a new partner to start this business venture with. We began with the idea to design pillows with fabric remnants from respected local sources. After reaching out to people, we quickly realized how attainable it was to accumulate pieces of left-over fabric. We were doing them a favor by taking their “trash” and gaining our “treasure”. We then began our journey of creating new stylish pieces from pillows to clutches and wallets, to children’s accessories and dog beds. This list only gets longer as we continue to grow. We owe a lot of beginning successes to the wonderful world of social media and word of mouth from family and friends.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of our biggest obstacles we’ve had is creating a work/life balance. Between the two of us, we have 4 kids ranging in ages of 6 years to 6 weeks old. We have had to learn to juggle the day to day joys of raising our children as we start a quickly growing business. Each week brings new and different tasks, therefore making our work diverse and exciting. As we approach each week, we plan out our schedule and do what works best for each of our families.

Please tell us about Nat + Tin.
Nat+Tin was created with the idea that high-quality fabric remnants can be upcycled into aesthetically beautiful one of a kind pieces. We selectively choose fabrics from respected sources thereby making our designs and production limited runs and distinct in their own way. Each handcrafted creation reflects our intentional design and taste.
