Meet Kyle Dendy in Grapevine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Dendy.

Kyle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, all I wanted to do was get the chance to play football in college, but after having two surgeries in 2014–the first as a sophomore in high school and the second as a junior–the possibility of reaching that goal disappeared. It was at this time, however, with everything I’d focused on for so long being taken away, that found the opportunity and time to write my first book which was another goal I had since 2nd grade. It was in this same season of my life that I also found a gift to speak and inspire other people, and just as quickly as my longtime desire to play college sports was taken away, a greater desire was placed in my heart. Everything started small and in the early days of calling myself a “motivational speaker” no one in the world knew me as such, but over time, as I consistently worked on my craft and walked through the doors God opened, things started to grow.

Fast forward four years, I’ve had the opportunity to write three books, make television appearances, travel the country speaking for churches, schools, and organizations, and reach tens of millions of people with videos on social media. I say all that only to say that to the person with a dream that anything is possible with time, consistent massive action, giftedness, and most of all–God.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been anything but smooth. The biggest struggle I faced was losing my father to suicide, but I have to progress through smaller struggles every day. I wouldn’t wish some of the things I had to grow through on anyone, but I do know they made me stronger and who I am today.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I’ve been speaking and writing books for about four years now and focus on the subject of ‘purpose.’ My latest book The Purpose Playbook is in the hands of thousands of people across the globe and the stories I hear back keep me encouraged. I’ve had the chance to reach masses but what means the most is when I get a DM from an individual who expresses a specific way my book or message transformed their life or an individual who didn’t just get inspired but took massive action toward their God-given dream.

What were you like growing up?
The coolest part about everything I do now, especially from the entrepreneurship/branding side, is that it’s everything I was passionate about and did on smaller scales growing up. Since I heard the word “entrepreneurship” in 2nd grade, I began starting businesses and doing so as creatively as I could. I was quiet and slow to speak but wise.
