Meet Kynard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kynard.

Kynard, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always been involved in music. In Toledo Oh, as a young kid, I was involved in the church and choir. As I got older, I would go on to learn how to engineer and record records for others as well as myself as an artist while living in Detroit. My journey finds over the course of time even with breaks always finding my way back and involving myself in music. Now in Texas, I have continued my journey releasing my first album in 2017 title “Get Thru The Day,” A mix of soul and hip hop with some melodies, I realized that I had the control and ability to do be as creative as I wanted, and most importantly I could fund my artistic pursuits. My motivation truly was understanding most music today isn’t made for an older generation who was raised on hip hop music. I just wanted some music I could still listen to and it felt new for others like me who enjoyed this type of music. I would continue by releasing a series of music videos called Freestyle Friday for 52 weeks in an attempt to grow as and artist and hopes of developing a demographic for those who like the nostalgia of old school music I was creating.

Even further as I developed a base for my music, I started to get more involved in creating different types of content to entertain. To this point I have engineered, I have recorded as an artist, I have been a producer who organized sets to shoot commercials and music videos, I have directed, and I have created. In creating for myself as well as others, now I am currently sharing my experiences. I have started working with the younger generation and collaborating. While being involved in their process, I have tried to teach as well as encourage them along their journey. I understand what it likes to be an artist, I relate to them in that way. I understand the struggle of the journey and the obstacles that get in the way of desired progress. My journey in music is still ongoing but along the way, I have found a way to try and be valuable to more than just myself but to the community as well.

Has it been a smooth road?
There are always obstacles, the biggest is not quitting. Life happens while your an artist and there are so many reasons why you should quit. Your friends may not do what you are attempting. If you are waiting for others to get the work done, then you will always be waiting. Mindset and what to expect are huge obstacles. For me, this is a job, I work every day towards trying to accomplish my goals. Invest in yourself but treat it as work that you love to do but work. Most people will not understand the decisions you make but you have to be committed to your vision of what you are doing. In the end, enjoy the journey of where this may take you. So many people start out as an artist but find other things they like to do along the way and evolve. That is perfect for today’s climate where you have to be diverse in your skillset. Yeah, you can sing or rap but can you edit your own video, can you DJ your own party, can you cast the right people for a music video. Be more than just an artist because your opportunity may come by other means. The only way to overcome the challenges is to be focused and be valuable to yourself and others.

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
I specialize in stories. Whether that is in music, creating content, helping others, in the end, it’s all to create a story around a specific object. We are known for our quality and our consistency. We are most proud that we are still here and what separates us from others is the dedication and work ethic towards building a great product.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Any city is good for business as long as you target the right people and have a great product.
