La Shawn, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I wanted to become a Hair Replacement Specialist because I wanted to help restore the confidence in women and girls. It was personal to me because I had Trichotillomania when I was in middle school… I remember what it felt like not having a safe and private place to go to to help me with my hair.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. Sometimes I want to give up but I just keep praying and grinding. It’s not easy owning your own company. It has Its many challenges but I know that I have women depending on me. So I refuse to give up.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Hair Addic-Shawn – what should we know?
Well, my business is replacing hair that my clients have lost with Cranial Prosthesis. I am most proud of the Confidence that I have restored in every client that I have had the privilege of servicing. What set’s me apart is that my clients are not just clients, they become my family. Each appointment is special because I still remember what it feels like to feel beautiful again and my confidence restored!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
You definitely need to have a passion for what you do. Also, Resilience, Emotional Awareness and Self-control in order to succeed in my opinion.
