Meet Lady Monroe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lady Monroe.

Thanks for sharing your story with us. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started when I was 16 years old and high school cross-dressing for musicals. Never would I have thought that I would have turned this into something greater. But here I am, about six years later doing my thing! Haha! I endured lots of trials and tribulations including discrimination. But none of that stopped me from becoming greater!

Has it been a smooth road?
With drag race becoming such a mainstream thing. Coming up as a drag queen was kinda smooth for me. Other than living in a small town, where I get some funny looks for walking around in a full beat mug, it’s been fun!

What else should we know about your work and what you are most proud of?
I am a drag queen. I love to entertain and give people things to laugh and think about! I’m most proud of how my brand has grown and grown over the years from not money, but relationships that I get to develop from this journey. I take things I learned from other people and apply it to my own life. It makes me a better person.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Dallas is a very diverse community. There is a wide variety of different kinds of people and it’s always fun to see what kind of people I’ll meet during any given time! Though there are some people that keep their mind in too much negative energy and I feel that it affects a lot of people around them as well.
