Today we’d like to introduce you to LaQuan Williams.
Hi LaQuan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m LaQuan Williams also known as Q of Q photography. I started photography in Aug 2017. I never had intentions on being a photographer at the time but in life, God will give you signs and lead you on a path that he already had planned out for you.
It’s crazy how life makes a complete circle without us even realizing it. Reason I say that is because back in 2009 when I was 14 or 15, I always had this digital camera I used to play with all the time. I would take pictures with it and edit the photos on my phone with photo apps. It was something I could do all day and never get tired of. Now that is me today with photography.
I bought a camera in Aug 2017 for content reasons because I was a party promoter at the time but instead, I wanted to learn more about it. So, I went to YouTube University (YouTube.com) for a couple years to get answers that I needed, went out and practice every single day or every chance I got until I got the hang of it.
Fast forward til today 2022 with all my praying, hard work, my tears, all my loses, and grinding to chase my dream/love for photography. I’m a full-time photographer and I own a photography studio with my lovely Lady Mikayla Johnson called MAQ Studios. Located in Northwest Arkansas.
If you have a dream or passion for something, GO FOR IT! Also, Pray and just work real hard God will make a way I promise you. You just have to show him you really want this.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It wasn’t such a smooth road starting photography but I can say the journey is worth every bit of hardship you will overcome. You have to fail a few times before you get it right.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in a lot of fashion and maternity photography but honestly, I just love to create great work. My mission is to give you a great experience but also deliver some outstanding photos. My style has been built off dedication and hard work. My love for fashion, modern portraits, and clean lines can be seen through my work that seems to capture more than an image but a sense of optimism, power, and beauty.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
That I’m a people’s person, my personality is great, I’m very respectful and I bring that southern hospitality that just welcomes you in with open arms. That alone took me so far with my business because I’ve built so many relationships and business relationships because of it.
