Laquisha, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
After being honorably discharged from the Army Reserves, I couldn’t find a job in that field that was interesting. I went to my 1st career choice which was health. I started working for a popular pharmaceutical company. I would leave an emotional wreck every other day hearing stories of how healthy people went to visit a health care provider with a minor ailment but left hours later with a debt, little too no relief, and a bottle of medicine that caused them to forget the initial problem and be left to deal with 10 more. My job was to try to find ways to help them become able to still afford what was causing them illness and sometimes they would be out of resources which left me unhelpful and many times deeply saddened. I knew there was some way I could help people feel better without causing more issues, save time, and more money. My search ended with the Texas Center for Massage Therapy. I got in touch with a representative and applied. That was only the beginning.
Please tell us more about your brand, Palms of Skill
I’m a licensed massage therapist but I also produce natural health care products with pure essential oils to help with ailments we would normally take medications for. I am a naturally caring person. I’m able to lay my hands on people and remove toxins built up daily from negative things thought, ate, inhaled or even absorbed through the skin. I love educating myself on the body and I’m often taking continued education courses on subjects to keep me up to date in the massage world or things about the body I may be unclear of. I love a challenge. I feel that if you have 99 problems, I’m the one you need. I am most proud that I provide a safe haven to escape, relax, and unwind. A space all about mental focus and physical relief. A place to help start a healthy, happy lifestyle. No body too big. No problem too small!
