Today we’d like to introduce you to LaToya Haynes.
LaToya, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started in the world of Travel back in 2017 when good friends of mine, Ms. Yolanda Nixon and Jamil Teasley told me about a company they were involved in selling VIP Travel Memberships where you could save money and receive discounts on resorts, rental cars, flights, restaurants and more. I took a leap of faith and decided to learn more about the company by attending an afternoon presentation. Once I got more information, I decided to become an agent and sell the membership because I enjoyed traveling and wanted to travel more. Then the company partnered with a Travel agency and it gave the agents an opportunity to become a travel agent and sell travel to prospective clients. I jumped on the opportunity!
So, I upgraded my membership, completed the required training to become a travel agent and received my certification. Once I got my certification, I realized I had to find out what type of travel I wanted to sell and to whom did I want to sell travel to. And I realized I wanted to sell Romance Travel to couples. My husband and never really traveled in our relationship except for one time when I had to go to an international event in Las Vegas. We were going partly for my birthday but mostly for business since I had the conference and we really didn’t get a chance to enjoy ourselves and have fun.
Fast forward to 2019, I took my husband to Riviera Maya, Mexico for an All-Inclusive vacation trip for his birthday. I really wanted to treat him for his birthday and we had a wonderful time. I think he really enjoyed himself when we went snorkeling and got a chance to see the fish underwater and also be on a speedboat driving like a madman! That vacation brought me so much joy to see him so relaxed, peaceful and enjoying his trip. He’s a hardworking man and I really wanted to treat him.
Now, I not only sell All-Inclusive Caribbean Romantic Getaways to my clients but also Honeymoons, Anniversaries, Babymoons and now Vow Renewals. I’m very excited to be taking my business to the next level and helping couples create a Romantic adventure they will remember for a lifetime!
Has it been a smooth road?
Success is never a smooth ride. Since starting my entrepreneurial journey back in 2013, I’ve always had bumpy roads or been on a roller coaster ride. Being an entrepreneur can be scary and nerve-wrecking sometimes but it’s also something about this journey that’s fulfilling and allows me to be independent, free and embrace the good as well as the rough times as a businesswoman. I’m still dealing with good and rough times of being a travel agent but I believe being an entrepreneur allows you to embrace the times when you think you are failing or not making progress to realize if you’re not failing or pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, you are not moving towards success.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Travel Romantic Getaways – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a Romantic Getaway Travel Agent! I work with couples to create memories of a lifetime and maximize their time in All-Inclusive Caribbean Romantic Getaways. I specialize in Romantic Getaways, Honeymoons, Anniversaries, Babymoons and Vow Renewals.
I’m mostly proud of helping couples to keep the spark and fire going in their relationship through Romance Travel. Let’s face it, we as human beings have so many responsibilities, especially if you’re a couple. Couples deal with sharing so many responsibilities from a mortgage, children, careers, paying bills and the list goes on and on that they put traveling on the back burner because they have to be the superman and superwoman of their household.
When couples come to me, I want to take away some of the everyday stress and overwhelm they are feeling and create a vacation for them to put all those other priorities on the back burner for a few days, a week or more! I create a vacation catered to their wants and needs for their getaway and that brings me joy when they return back home happy, recharged and more in love than ever before!
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I was born and raised in Dallas, TX so I’m a southern lady! Since moving to Lancaster, I really love the area my husband and bought our first home. I also love Desoto, Duncanville and Cedar Hill. I was surprised how these areas have beautiful homes out here. Also, Red Oak and Midlothian have beautiful homes as well. Basically, I just love homes if you can tell, lol.
Traffic is a beast and I don’t really care for traffic. But since I work from home more now then ever I really don’t have to deal with traffic. That’s a great perk from working from home and having a home office that’s just upstairs right next to my bedroom.
