Meet Letty Long of Fashionablylateboymom in Frisco – North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Letty Long.

Letty, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, I always had a love for fashion. I guess you can say it started when I picked up my first copy of Vogue. I loved to mix and match outfits. Though as all stories end up these days, I fell into the societal norms of heading off to college, getting a job, getting married and starting a family. I found it hard to find the time to truly pursue what it was I loved and I fell into a routine. That is until this summer when my kids were old enough to spend time in pre-school/school and became a little more independent. I thought, nows my chance if I am going to take one and this summer I decided to start my blog and here I am.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As with all new starts, there were highs and lows. I was having difficulty trying to figure out how I was going to get started and what direction I wanted to take. Then there were the long hours, the budgeting, and admittedly going over that budget, as well as spending time going over all the new fashions and adding my own twist to it. I had to figure out how to tell my story as I try to share my life through fashion. All while raising my two wonderful sons and all the time that goes into giving them the love and attention they deserve.

Fashionablylateboymom – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Margaritas, tacos, and fashion! I specialize in showcasing hot spots for food and drinks not only for the young, single and those always on the go but as well for young mothers and families. As far as fashion, I don’t like to be defined by any age or style. I mix a little bit of everything as my outfit is an extension of my mood for that day. What I am most proud about is the connections I made and the interaction I have with everyone. I love that I get to share a little bit of myself and see the people it inspires. I think what sets me apart from others and what defines me, is my drive to try and share all these new experiences of food, drinks, and fashion through my awareness as a mom, a wife, a traveler, and a young woman.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
To me, it has been the start. There is a certain amount of fear of starting something new without knowing if it will work and trying to enter a saturated market. When I was able to carve out a niche for myself and see results of the hard work I put in, it reinvigorated my soul, giving me a fresh outlook on life.
