Meet Lisa Mathis of Lucky 7 Unique Drinq’s in Oak cliff

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Mathis.

Lisa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started bartending about six years ago. I was working at Chili’s and the bartender called in and I told my manager I think I can do that. She believed in me and I made over $250 that shift and right then I knew I wanted to do this. I started working at Cheddars Scratch Kitchen and all my bar guests were like you are really good at this and you’re a people person you should turn this into a business. So I thought about it and decided to do it and that’s how Lucky 7 was born. I named it Lucky 7 because I have seven beautiful children and my last baby’s name is Seyven.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Yes, it has been a smooth road for the most part. I have a good support system as far as family, friends, my bar guests and social media. I posted my business card and it received over 100 likes in 45 minutes. The only downside is people will try to low ball you as they will any business. But my prices are reasonable and I believe in my talent. My motto is guaranteed to get you tipsy lol.

Please tell us about Lucky 7 Unique Drinq’s.
My Business is named after my kids once ago. I just wanted to be able to leave them something and teach them something that I love doing in the process. My business is a mobile bartending company. I do wedding receptions, birthday parties, family events anything. You name it, I will do it. No event is too big or small. Lucky 7 is known for its strawberry Hennessy, adios, Long Island and a custom drink my kid’s names called Devil punch. What sets me apart from others is I have packages where I will come bartend your event only or I can provide the alcohol and bartend. I think I have the best prices around lol.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
What I’m looking forward to is taking Lucky 7 to the top. I wanna be known as the best bartender in Dallas, then it next after that the world lol. I wanna be able to take my company worldwide and provide the best experience I can. My goal is to build my business up and make it a family affair when my kids are older.
