Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Sims.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Lisa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When growing up, I found myself always intrigued with anything artsy, so when the first Apple desktop computer came onto the scene, my creativity blossomed. I have been blessed through-out my years of working in corporate America to have always had the opportunity to design brochures, pamphlets, flyers and whatever else my employers needed. This is how my love for graphics grew.
In 2006, I decided it was time for me to seriously pursue my dreams, and I went back to college and obtained my graphic design degree; and from that moment Passionate 2 Design became a reality. To build my clientele, I would often take pro-bono projects to build my portfolio, so one day I put an advertisement in the college newsletter and got my first paying client, who is still my client to this day!
Today, I service clients from all over the U.S. designing websites, flyers, promotional products…you name it, I’ve pretty much created it!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Freelancing has its ups and downs. One minute, my work is slow, then the next I’m busting out the seams trying to manage projects. I really love designing websites because it’s challenging and I love learning new technology; however, the struggle is trying to find a pricing medium for clients. You will find some designers who are priced really low for products, so it’s hard trying to compete with them.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Passionate 2 Design – what should we know?
I am the creative designer/owner behind Passionate 2 Design and I assist entrepreneurs with their brand identity design! As a business owner, I know the struggles that it takes to start-up a business, therefore, my goal is to assist small business owners with creative and practical graphic and web design work to help improve their exposure, marketability and overall image at an affordable rate.
I stay on top of the latest technology and software so that your project(s) are top notch. Every project begins with the complete understanding of your strategy and objectives in order to deliver a solid final project that achieves results! With a strong eye for details, I seek out inspiration and ideas to deliver compelling solutions. I ALWAYS strive for excellence in my design projects, because I am a representation of you and your brand…which means your product WILL/MUST look AWESOME!
