Today we’d like to introduce you to Lissette Perez.
Hi Lissette, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My name is Lissette Perez; I’m a first-generation Mexican American. I graduated from Texas State University in December of 2021 with a BBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship Studies. My goal in life has been to capture the beauty in growth and bring ideas to life that project growth. My parents migrated from Guanajuato, Mexico in the late 1990s, and their sacrifices have shaped me to the woman I am today. I know I own my own social media management business, Grandir, which translates to growth in French. I love helping others magnify their brands by building on strong identities, which have fueled me to grow alongside my clients every day. Throughout these past 5 years, I have been able to tackle various obstacles that have only increased my work ethic and remind me every day to chase my dreams to build a brand that represents and builds on growth,
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been easy, but I have grown from my toughest battles. I know that I have build my roots long enough to withstand many changes that have came my way, even if they knock me completely over. I strive to be a better version every day and try to remind myself that the storms aren’t forever…. even if we’re in Texas. Some of the struggles I faced along the way have shaped me to be the person who I am today and allowed me to be at the point of my career today. From losing my first full-time marketing Job to COVID-19 to being at jobs that lacked support and representation.
As you know, we’re big fans of Grandir. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Grandir | @GrandirSocial represents growth in progress and overall value of a brand. I launched Grandir in the fall of 2021 and have thought about this for a couple of months before taking the risk in the Social Media World. I know specialize in Social Media Management responsible for the growth in a diverse pool of brands, that have allowed me to build well-rounded and developing strategies that help my clients increase their online engagement, social media followers, and brand awareness.
As a social media manager, I’m responsible for creating and curating content for different industry social media brands. The post includes images, videos, and written content which I strive to align with the each brand and their values. Apart from posting content, I respond to comments and messages and monitor monthly analytics that track our performance online. By engaging with my client’s followers, I build relationships and increase brand exposure to each individual’s target audience.
In order to be able to do what I do know, I have to grow alongside my clients every day and stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and strategies; one thing that I am really proud of are the relationship I build with my clients every day, which have helped me grow in ways that I wouldn’t imagine.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I once read a quote that said, “If you don’t risk anything, you risk even more,” and I have always believe that entrepreneurs have been one of the most risk-taking individuals who strive every day to make their risk worth it. Personally, I’m not an impulsive risk taker, but I will take a risk worth taking. I am very strong-minded and know where I want to go; I just may not always know how to get there.
