Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Cambra.
Liz, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been an independent Fashion Stylist with Park Lane Jewelry for the past 12 years. I was introduced to them by another Direct Sales leader when the company we were representing decided to close their doors.
I have worked off and on during the past 40 plus years, with various direct sales companies. I love direct sales because it is a business that anyone can do with a little enthusiasm and dedication. I have enjoyed the flexibility of hours that I worked while raising my four children and now spending quality time with my grandchildren.
But it wasn’t until I discovered Park Lane, that I really felt at home in the industry. Park Lane was started by a young couple (Shirley was 16 and Arthur 19) just after they married. Shirley had the vision and Arthur the business brain to see it become the success it is today. Three of their sons, Scott, Mark and Arthur now run the company with their children now following in their footsteps.
I love Park Lane because it is a simple business model that anyone can have success with. We have fine fashion, designer inspired jewelry for every style type and every age group. We can earn significant income very quickly and our earning potential is the best in the business. Park Lane offers incredible support and a positive community for the women and men that work with them.
I have a degree from the University of Georgia in Fashion Merchandising and if I had known Park Lane back in 1977, I would signed up with them and never worked anywhere else!
The best part of my job is helping women to realize their full potential and to inspire others to believe in themselves.
I’m very proud to say that I represent an iconic brand as well as the family behind a 65 years old legacy business.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. I am in the “party” or “show” business and if I don’t have a full calendar and a hostess or two should decide to cancel their parties then I could be out of business.
It is up to me to work my business as a business every day and to have a Power Hour each day to work on the different areas of my business- Hostess Coaching, Booking new Shows, Recruiting or Sharing the Business Opportunity and of course Customer Service to ensure my customers received their jewelry and are happy with their purchase. On the off chance that something is wrong then I am there to correct problem as quickly as possible and with the least amount of inconvenience to my customer.
Many people look down on direct sellers and feel that we don’t make real money. We do, but it is up to me to get up and show up for work during the hours that I have designated for my business.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I represent Park Lane Jewelry as an independent stylist. We specialize in fine fashion jewelry that is designer inspired. As the world’s leading direct sales jewelry company, Park Lan proudly offers quality jewelry that is backed by an unconditional guarantee.
We offer a customer sale year round that the customer creates for themselves, Park Lane boasts the most generous Host Reward program in the industry. Product guarantee. Unlimited marketing methods which include In-Home style shows, Expo, bridal and Career Fair Pop-Ups, Fundraisers, Social Media Style Shows (Live or Private), Office or restaurant-style shows, and personal appointments.
Other benefits include the flexibility to choose my own hours, personal and professional growth, the possibility of growing a team, traveling for FREE to exciting locations (we can earn two travel trips a year and even a brand new stylist can earn these trips), and recognition for my achievements.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Terri Sawyer is my upline Company Vice President and lives in Ovilla, TX. She was the one to introduce me to Park Lane 12 years ago and has supported me in my business this whole time.
Scott Levin, CEO of Park Lane has always said hello at all conventions and has even reached out in the last year to help see me succeed as I plan on my promotion to Area Manager. It isn’t often that a CEO of a company will reach out via Social Media and tell you congrats on a job well done and send a personal message to you while you on a cruise that he will reserve a spot for you for a special training until you can get home to pay for it, but that is what he does and not just for me but for all of the stylists in the field. We are all treated as members of his family.
Jennifer Bush Bond is a National Sales Director and Scott asked her to mentor me as I grow into my new position which she has done through weekly phone calls, texts and Facebook posts.
Christy McKenney Goodman is another Company Vice President that has welcomed me into training with her team in the Dallas area. She and her team have only been with Park Lane for two years but she worked for another jewelry company before that and had tremendous success and that success has followed her to Park Lane. In a way, I have helped them learn more about Park Lane through my experience with the company and in turn, I have learned some new sales techniques that led to her success that I can utilize in my business.
