Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Mouser.
Madison, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started photography in middle school and it was immediately something I knew I wanted a career in. Although, as I went on to high school, there was the pressure of needing to pick a career that would sustain me financially and with photography that can be really hard to do. So, unfortunately, I said goodbye to that dream in order for me to find a career that gave me stability. Although, after three years of college and changing my degree about four times, I realized my only passion is photography. I was running away from my dream because of fear. Fear of failing and fear of insufficient income. After this realization, I decided to pursue photography and chase my dream! I didn’t care how hard it would be, as long as it was with something I loved. That was in 2018. Now in 2020, I have my own photography business, Madison Kinley Photography! I get to do what I love everyday and that’s all I’ve wanted in my career. Don’t let the uncertainty of money keep you from chasing what you love! Passion overweighs income.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has its ups and downs. Through each struggle, I have grown. There are days where I am super motivated and feel like I can take on anything. Then there are days where I am fearful. I doubt myself and my career choice. The world revolves around money. I don’t want that for my life. I want to do what I love while supporting myself financially. I know that it is possible.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
Madison Kinley Photography focuses on portrait photography. Although I have experience in food and animal photography as well. I am most proud of how far I’ve come. My business has grown so much in just a year and I can’t wait to see what it’s like in another year. In the beginning, I didn’t know how or where to start, and now I have clients coming back to me for more photoshoots and clients recommending my services to others. It’s an amazing feeling when you achieve something you thought you couldn’t. What sets me apart is that I focus on the experience, not just the pictures. When the experience is fun and interactive, the pictures turn out amazing because I am literally capturing candid memories for people. My saying is that a photo is a forever memory. You will always have that memory because you can relive it through those photos.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see my business becoming my full-time career. I want to reach as many people as I can because creating forever memories for people is one of the best gifts you can give someone. I want to give that to as many people as I can.
