Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggie Hernandez.
Maggie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I always knew that there had to be more to life than waking up at 6 am, fight traffic to essentially make money for someone else, and not be genuinely satisfied with the career or job you’ve chosen. Not to mention that as a mother, working an 8-5 job made it quite difficult at times to truly be there for my son. So, when my sister, my mentor, and guide, mentioned that I should consider getting licensed and certified to be a lash technician I didn’t think twice about it and decided to take on the adventure. Having a degree in psychology and leaving my comfort zone to pursue a completely different path was beyond terrifying. But what’s more terrifying than working somewhere that doesn’t bring you true happiness? My WHY was greater than my fears. I left my job and went on to do lashes full time alongside my sister. I practiced, practiced, and practiced. I saved enough money to continue my education in lash training. I took courses to be certified in additional techniques to better my artistry. I’ve met amazing lash artists along the way that have guided me and motivated me as well. Up to this day, there is not a day that I don’t wake up eager to go to work and do what I truly love. Not to mention that being a lash artist has allowed me to meet so many wonderful clients. I strive to be the best in order to give these hardworking women a piece of my artistry.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With any decision you make in life, you will always face challenges. What pushes you through each and every day is your WHY. If your Why is clear, then your How will be easy. Being a new lash artist comes with so many challenges, from making sure you have enough money saved up to pay for your schooling and certifications to ensure that you have enough patience to sit for hours doing the same process over and over. As many may know to be a lash artist consist of an endless amount of hours practicing to perfect your technique. Patience is key in this game. There are times when you question it all. However, all the sacrifices, the times of self-doubt, and long days are worth the happiness and freedom to do the things that are most important to you.

At Sincerely Lash & Beauty, we specialize in lash extensions. We offer different lash techniques. We are all licensed and certified. We take pride in the work that we do because we have practiced endless hours, tested and continue to test the best products available for our clients, and we truly enjoy doing what we do. We are definitely not an in and out type of service. Getting lash extensions is an investment and because our clients are investing their time and money we make sure to give them the best service possible. Because not everyone’s lashes are the same our number one priority is to always ensure that our client’s natural lashes are taken care of and healthy. When clients come to us we always ensure that they get pampered and get the relaxation time they deserve. Sincerely Lash & Beauty is definitely a place to relax and unwind.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Honestly, I would have probably started a lot sooner. Somehow, we always try to convince ourselves that we first have to be fully “ready” before we make our next move. The thing is no one will ever be ready. You have to be willing to take a risk and go for it to make it happen. Of course, having a strong faith in God and believing in yourself will push you through.
