Meet Maria Paz of Maria Paz Photo in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Paz.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Maria. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I think that after becoming a first-time mom in 2013, naturally, I became a little bit obsessed with taking photos. Not necessarily of my sweet daughter but just, in general, I was intrigued with editing ALL my phone photos. I played around with different apps, took a little more time finding the right angle, making sure the focus of my photos said something without having to say anything. I put a lot of thought into the photos I took JUST with my phone and people noticed.

Family, friends, and then strangers would ask me “do you take pictures?” and I knew exactly what they meant. I was always so flattered but most of all encouraged. I decided to invest and pursue photography in 2017.

Maria Paz Photo has grown so much in such little time and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support of my friends, family, but also other photographers who selflessly shared words of wisdom with me and still do.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t think any small owned business ever has a “smooth road” and I think that’s how it should be. We have to make mistakes and go through tough situations in order to learn and better our craft. Being my own boss is such a blessing but it can be overwhelming as all the responsibility falls on me.

I am responsible for the ideas, the business moves, and carrying them out to keep my business on top. Balancing the artistic and strategic side of any small owned business can be tricky but also rewarding.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Maria Paz Photo offers both photo and video. If you visit my IG page you’ll see in my description it says “creating meaningful content for the passionate“ and that’s what I do. Whether it’s a couple who just got engaged, a calligrapher making wedding invitations, or another photographer photographing clients…

I strive to capture the passion between the two. When people see my work I want them to see what I see. I want them to feel the raw emotions that were felt that day. I love creating meaningful content for the passionate and staying true to that is the most important thing when it comes to my business.
