Meet Michael Jackson of JRAD Productions in San Antonio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Jackson.

Michael, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started as an intern in 2001 for a local production company in San Antonio TX called Cibolo films. After my first day on set, the producers were so impressed with my enthusiasm and ambition. I put on a salary with the company. Working on over thirty local and national commercial with this company over several years.

Then in 2007, I founded “Idle Time Cinema.” a full-service production company producing projects ranging from short films, music videos, web ads, and more than in 2014 merged with JRAD Productions intending to produce full feature films.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It is a daily struggle of doubt, trying to excel and make a living in this industry. Technology has been a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it makes film making tools more accessible for independent filmmakers, then at the same time the market is flooded with people who have taken an interest in filmmaking, who maybe twenty years ago before digital filmmaking may have not.

Please tell us about JRAD Productions.
Idle Time Cinema/JRAD Productions is a film/video production company based in San Antonio TX specializing in Independent film, Television commercials; Music videos, live streaming events, Still Photography, Aerial Drone Video/ Photography. With the end goal of producing full feature films.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
As a child, one of my favorite past times was going to the movies, it was something I wasn’t always able to do due to my family’s income. But the times I could go, those moments are fresh in my memories and very dear to me.
