Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Caesar.
Mike Caesar is a Mississippi native but taking Hip hop by storm via Dallas, TX. What makes Caesar’s music special is his compelling message about mental illness. Mike was first diagnosed with type II bipolar disorder at the age of 9 years old and was always told that he would be an underdog because of his mental illness. Instead of letting bipolar disorder defeat him, Caesar channels his energy into his music, activism and business ventures.
Since his music debut, Mike Caesar has become a verified artist on all major streaming platforms, with over 3 Million Plays on Spotify and more than 36,000 Monthly Listeners. With plays and spins in over 65 Countries, Mike has landed a spot as one of the Top 5 Most Streamed Indie Hip-hop artist in his Texas and Mississippi home markets. Mike also founded the W.A.I.T. Foundation and has visited a total of 21 high schools, since 2015 to speak on mental health awareness and the importance of staying positive and focused in difficult circumstances.
Combining his creative nature with his business acumen, Mike Caesar co-created Tha CelebriTea (which peaked as the #4 urban news blog in the US) and Skyline Republic Multi-Media to provide branding and marketing for notable fashion and entertainment companies such as Ralph Lauren Denim, Tillys Store, “Thugs and The Women Who Love Them” (stage play), VLive America Gentlemen’s Club Franchise, Legendary DJ Michael Watts and his Best of Texas Music Tour and Apparel, Day 26 Reunion Tour Apparel, ShotsByTru Film and Photography and more.
Mike Caesar’s recently appeared on “Hoe Train” w/ Curren$y, a single that has over 5mil streams worldwide, and the mental health-themed “Boxing With My Demons,” featuring Rick Ross’ Maybach Music artist, Gunplay. Mike also wrote and produced “Flex Luger” for Swishahouse founder DJ Michael Watts, before releasing “Kingdom” in early 2018 and touring all spring and summer. The next releases from Mike should be his E.A.R.L.Y. 2 project in spring/summer 2019.
Please tell us about your art.
Everything comes from inspiration. I don’t force anything, whether marketing, music, designs; probably why it takes me one year to put out a complete project. I’m inspired by anything that makes me feel, so my music and artworks will always reflect that. My fans love that about me because my music is so personal. If you listen to the lyrics, you’ll learn everything you need to know about me, and also you should be inspired to keep pushing on.
We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
Network and always bring something of value to the table. I’ve worked with some notable people, simply by being able to provide photo shoots or graphic work. I think the biggest key is to be humble enough to ask, but proud enough to know your work. People will use you all the time, but don’t let them misuse you ever!
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
Type in Mike Caesar on all major streaming platforms, and follow my artist page AND add my music to your favorite playlist. Tell your favorite DJs and radio stations to play and interview Mike Caesar. Mainly my Instagram (@therealmikecaesar) is how to contact and stay up to date with me, and www.skylinerepublic.com is where you can purchase merch. Honestly, I’m not big on social media; I don’t update my IG that often, and I don’t have a twitter. I don’t believe in posting, speaking or being around for no reason.

He not only is a great storyteller using rap lyrics, he is not afraid to delve into the battles of mental health bringing awareness and tearing down the stigma one listener at a time! Watch out because he is definitely on the rise! If you haven’t heard him yet, you should!

Mike Caesar is such a dope artist! I love that he’s not ashamed of his disorder but instead embraces it! He’s a true example of what, “Never Giving Up” looks like! One of my favorite quotes from his music is, “Might as well just ball, and do your thing! People will hate you anyway!” So, no matter what health issue you may have or simply if people just don’t believe in you or your dreams, “Live Life for Yourself and Make It Happen”…You Only Live Once so, Might as Well!

“I think the biggest key is to be humble enough to ask, but wise enough to know your work.” Mike Caesar. That quote is powerful. A lot of people think being humble and asking for help means you’re begging or starving, but this quote shows that opportunity exists in knowing when to seek guidance. Salute to the king for being real enough to know that asking for help doesn’t diminish your value.

“I think the biggest key is to be humble enough to ask, but proud enough to know your work.” -Mike Caesar. Mike has always taught me that It’s ok to celebrate yourself without waiting on an applause from that crowd. When you know your worth you don’t have to wait on approval. If the door doesn’t open for you figure out a way to buy the building.
