Meet Joshua Wilborn of Music Mpulse in Dallas Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Wilborn.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Joshua. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I guess you can say the bug was planted in college at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. During my time there, I had a radio show on one of the Stations, WFAL “Falcon Radio.” After college, when my friend Lo “Uncle Skeetah” Gross started his podcast Inaudible Raucous, I would sometimes guest host and for about three years, he would encourage me to start my own Podcast so once we started “Uncool Urban Podcast” I had a passion to want to do more one on one style interviews with artists, entrepreneurs, fellow podcasters, friends and family members and from that, “Music Mpulse” was born!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would say Yes and No because once I got started, finding guests to interview hasn’t been hard at all. The hardest part has been finding my own voice and confidence to be different from a regular interview that asks the same questions, changing studios, adjusting to the pandemic and then purchasing my own equipment and learning how to use that. Besides that, things have been rolling along great!

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Music Mpulse is my spin-off Podcast of The Uncool Urban Podcast, which I co-host with Shad “Shad Diddy” Miller and Tim “Yogi Da Stoner” Pilkington. Music Mpulse gives me a chance to not only meet new people in a variety of fields and industries but talk with friends and family that have backgrounds, stories, businesses and interests that I’d like to share with the world. I’m most proud of the episode I did with My Dad, Brother and Sister altogether. My Birthday episode with my best friends and mother and my Lil Ju Made Da Beat episode. I think what sets me apart from others is that not only do the episodes allow for me to get to know other people but special episodes like the ones I’ve done with Family and Friends allow for my listeners to get to know me more.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
None. It’s been prayer, confidence, hard work, being positive and being genuine.
