So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m originally from Detroit, MI. I moved to Dallas earlier this year and took the leap of faith to start my own cleaning company. I’ve always loved cleaning and organizing. It’s something I would happily do for my family and friends. Now, I get to help busy professionals, working moms and anyone else who needs to spend more time on living their life and less time worrying about cleaning chores.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting a business is not always easy. It takes a lot of persistence, networking and groundwork to get your name out there. However, I’ve been committed to my brand and have started to see my work pay off.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Just Like Mom Cleaning Services story. Tell us more about the business.
Just Like Mom Cleaning Services offers in home and commercial cleaning. I named the company Just Like Mom because everyone wants their home to feel like their mom cleaned it. No one cleans better than mom! I clean each home as if it were mine. My attention to detail is what keeps my clients coming back.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I have been extremely lucky (and blessed) to have clients that continuously refer me to others. Word of mouth has been my best form of marketing. So, in that instance I am very lucky.
